This is a simple little activity and a great add to your outdoor music area.
Go for a walk in the forest to find a stick– I love this part – it’s nice to get out for a walk and fun to watch the kids hunt for the ‘perfect stick’. Make sure that it’s thick enough at the top to screw a few hooks in.
Provide the children with sandpaper to sand their stick (if they want a smooth finish).
Screw hooks into one end of the stick.
Tie colourful ribbon, string and jute to the hooks.
Add bells!
Voila! A Music Wand!
(We also use this as a magic circle wand:)
