Here’s a very simple activity that your children will adore.
Materials
- Leaves
- Paint in easy to squeeze bottles
- Glitter
- A salad spinner
- A plastic plate -cut to fit into the inside of the spinner.
- Tape
Get Started!
Have the children collect leaves in a variety of sizes.
Place the plastic plate into the spinner so that it fits nicely near the top.
Roll up a piece of masking tape and put it in the centre of the plate.
Have the child stick his leaf to the tape on the plate.
Now drizzle the leaf with paint in the colours of your choice and add a few shakes of sparkles.
Put the lid on the spinner and SPIN!
Open the lid and Voila!

I would throw the glitter on while the paint was still wet, but I am a huge fan of sparkle!

Does the paint preserve the leaves? Or could you iron them with wax paper after the paint dries in order for the leaves to last longer ?
Love this idea !!

Thank you. 🙂
To be honest, I’m not sure how you’d preserve them. Try the wax and tell me how they turn out!
These ones are all dry and ‘crunchy’ but pretty still!

Do it on dried out pressed leaves instead of green…then wax paper them.
